California family vacation! (Day six)

We started the day with a family photo op on Lance's boat.

Then it was off to spend the day at the beach. Ah, I love saying that.

Look everyone — Skye knows how to build a sandcastle!

Rinse. Repeat.

It seems like Jack spent hours playing in the sand. Here he's building a trench for the tide to fill up an inner pool with water.

I'm now that uncle, who lets the kids bury him in the sand.

The funniest thing is that, since Danielle always plugs her nose in the water, Schuyler did it for her!

Dom on the boogie board.

Sisters.

Before we left, I took the boys all the way out to the end of the jetty. We saw surfers, fishermen, crabs and starfish.

* * *

That night, the kids stayed home and just the adults went out. We went to Coyote in Carlsbad, sat outside and ordered several appetizers ... and several cocktails.

The old, drunk couple sitting behind us. And by "sitting," I mean laying, groping, making out and spilling their drinks on one another.

Okay, the last picture was a crack up! I am really enjoying your vacation posts. Next time you go, can you adopt me so I can enjoy San Diego too?!
