St. Lou winery tou — part deu

On Friday, we roadtripped to St. Louis for this year's "winery weekend" with several of Leslie's high school classmates and their spouses. Saturday afternoon, our first stop was at Chandler Hill Vineyards (the historic 1870s home of its namesake is in the distance).

But we spent the majority of our day at Balducci: 76 acres of scenic countryside overlooking the Missouri River, and part of the United States' first designated wine district.

Stocked with a variety of fruit, cheese, crackers and sausage ... we set up shop and settled in.

Ladies from the Monroe City High School class of '95.

But there were 22 of us in all; so many, that we got our own bus!

Nicole and Hal.

Girlfriends.

Missy & Doug.

It just happened to be the same band as the last time they went!

Of course, the Monroe City Panthers were the first to hit the dance floor.

Heather & Tyler.

At the end of the afternoon, it was back on the bus into the tiny little (unincorporated) town of Defiance — the final home of Daniel Boone.

The infamous "biker bar."

Time for my comments to end now. And the photos soon hereafter.
