Whirlwind day to the Windy City
A co-worker and I made a quick trip to Chicago yesterday. Here's the sunrise, heading east.
Out the window of the boardroom (on the 22nd floor, the top floor of the building we were in) where we gave our hour-long lunch presentation.
And the sunset, heading back west. I was back home before the boys were even in bed!

Hot fun in the summertime
Leslie sang at all three worship services today, so after the boys and I went to church, we ventured to a little "aquatic park" that we had never been to before. On the hottest day of the year.
Besides this great kiddie section, it has a rock-climbing wall, three big slides and a lazy river encircling the entire place. It turned out to be even better than I expected.
The boys did great together and we had a ton of fun.
Four-and-a-half hours later, this was on the drive home.

Afternoon treats
This afternoon, Leslie and the boys came to visit me for the first time at work. There's a public library on the first floor of our office building that they had never been to before ... and Landon was pretty excited.
The floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Kansas City's Country Club Plaza.
Landon is still excited.
I have to tell ya, it was one of the best coyote/red-haired doll/possum puppet shows I've ever seen.
And we had the children's section all to ourselves.
As if that wasn't a treat enough, we topped it off with their first trip to Yogurtini. Yum!
